“LeonFlix” – The Spotify For Free Movies and TV Shows?

LeonFlix might be the closest app I’ve come across to being “the Spotify for free movies and TV shows”. But more importantly might be the “Alluc alternative” we’ve all been looking for.

Its no secret, most people will know by now that Alluc has shut down. Within the coming months as they close their API, a lot of Kodi add-ons and apps will follow. For the people who don’t know what Alluc was, let me bring you up to speed. Alluc was a search engine [website] that allowed people to find specific movies and TV shows. Alluc indexed media content sources hosted on various file sharing websites. You may not realize but a lot of your favorite Kodi add-ons that source out movies and TV shows used the Alluc API.

Following the closure of Alluc I’ve seen a lot of posts on Reddit with people asking where they can turn to. Its always a struggle finding legit websites for streaming these days, as most are fake ad mines. So why use a website? Why use a Kodi add-on? Why use an Android app? LeonFlix is a new app which is available on Windows, MacOS and Linux. With an interface that somewhat resembles Spotify, the app is an ad free masterpiece.

You can download LeonFlix from their website and install it like you would any other app. The first time you open LeonFlix it will further download some required dependencies. When it finally starts, the app couldn’t be anymore straight forward. Select the movie or TV show you want to watch, press the play button and watch the stream start. LeonFlix will automatically pick the best quality source with the least buffering. Be patient if it takes a few minutes to load.

LeonFlix resembles similarities to other streaming apps such as Popcorn Time and Streamio. But don’t be fooled as the technology behind is very much different. Popcorn Time and Streamio rely on torrents to stream media content, LeonFlix does not. This is a nice touch for people who don’t feel confident using torrents with their ISP. A better comparison might be the “Terrarium TV for Windows”.

If episodes are not playing:

If episodes are not playing then its possible they are being blocked by your ISP. Geo-restrictions apply in different countries depending on your ISP. To fix this you can use Ivacy VPN.
